Your Story
Since we bought CRAGAR back on August 1st we knew SEMA would be a critical point
in our early CRAGAR careers. From the beginning we had three main goals.
1) Build the CRAGAR brand awareness and brand equity
2) Reestablish CRAGAR as a leading performance parts company
3) Build strong relationships with our customers
Since August 1st we have been working hard to lay a foundation on all three of these
goals with the plan to launch them at SEMA. I’m happy to say me made good inroads
on all three of these, and here is my story.
CRAGAR has always had a great booth location at SEMA, its in the front row of the
South Buildings, Tire and Wheel Section. So, we wanted to capitalize on this location
by having a good looking booth that would showcase not only the wheels, but also
the new product lines. We also wanted to showcase the new “Come Get Your Muscle”TM
tagline. We did a couple of fun things to get people in the booth, the first is
that we had the famous drag racer Tom “Mongoose” McEwen sign autographs on Tuesday
and Wednesday. The turnout for this was great, and it was cool to see people bring
in magazine covers, matchbox cars, model cars, etc. for Tom to sign. The other fun
thing we did was give people a chance to win the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 that
was equipped with the CRAGAR wheels, exhaust, twin turbo, and carbon fiber hood
and trunk. Unfortunately nobody won the car; however we did hand out several hundred
hats, water bottles, key chains and other officially licensed CRAGAR merchandise.
Back in the 60’s and 70’s when the big American automakers were having the horsepower
wars, CRAGAR was there offering blowers, exhaust, headers, and more. Now with the
Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, and soon to be Chevy Camaro, it seemed like the
perfect time for CRAGAR to get back into performance parts and we knew SEMA would
be the place to launch these new products. So, we had been working hard to develop
new product lines to compliment our world renowned wheels. The product lines we
launched at SEMA include Exhaust Systems, Twin Turbos, and Crate Engines. The response
to all three product lines was great, especially the Exhaust System and Twin Turbo
for the Challenger.
CRAGAR also debuted this new website with all of these new cool features for us
CRAGAR passionites to share our stories, upload photos, and more. We must have had
over 100 people come up to us at SEMA and say I had those wheels on my 69 this or
my 66 that, it was awesome to meet all of them and hear their stories. The passion
that these people have for the CRAGAR brand was amazing to see first hand. We hope
that some of them make their way here to share their stories with the rest of you.
Now that the first “Share your Story” is out of the way, we hope you all will join
us by sharing your CRAGAR story.
Sincerely:
